People coming to Australia as a migrant or refugee are regarded as permanent residents, and have the same work rights as any Australian resident.

Please note - there are no rights to work if you are travelling to Australia on a visitor visa (that is, as a tourist or family visitor).

However, the working holiday maker program offers some young people the chance for incidental work as part of their travel.

And don't forget to keep in touch with family and friends. Call ordinary phones anywhere in the world from your computer for the price of a local call with SkypeOut.

Click on the Jobs link to find work to suit you.

You can also see more of the world if you Volunteer Abroad for a change! See the world in a whole new way. Volunteer projects from 4 to 12 weeks spanning four continents.

Another way to earn money while travelling is to teach English as a foreign language. And now you can sign up for an online course that gives you the qualifications to do this. When you leave Australia, you'll probably want to supplement your income so you can travel for a while longer and come back here! This course is taken completely online, and you can apply for it quickly, simply and immediately right now. Click here to teach English abroad.
